Charting the Impacts of Climate Change on AgricultureSuccessful agriculture depends on a delicate balance of moisture, temperature, flowering times, pollination, soil structure, labor, markets, and many other factors. As climate changes, the regular conditions that growers expect change as well. Some farmers are taking advantage of changing conditions while others are caught up in rapid and unpredictable alterations of normal weather patterns and environmental circumstances. This presentation examines the overall effects of climate change on agriculture.

Climate Change Economics in Oregon: Costs of Impacts & Costs of Mitigation PoliciesHow society chooses to act in the face of climate change will depend on many factors, including our understanding of the costs of climate change damages versus the costs of mitigation. For Oregon, evidence will be presented on the climate damage side of the equation (related to water, forests, and sea level rise), as well as for the cost of mitigation (for carbon tax or cap-and-trade policies).

Climate risks and opportunities facing Oregon's forestsForest ecosystems are integrated into Oregon's culture, ecology, and economy but changes in climate threaten the health and productivity of certain tree species. As home to some of the most carbon dense forests in the world Oregon faces great risks as well as great opportunities to mitigate climate change. In this presentation we will examine how forests are integrally linked to the climate and how changes in climate are impacting Oregon's forests and their carbon storage potential.
